Batting first under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan, Punjab Kings scored 197 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Openers Dhawan and Prabhsimran of Punjab Kings started playing well from the very first over. Prabhsimran Singh performed excellent batting and scored 60 runs on 34 balls.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa came in when Prabhsimran was out. Shikhar Dhawan hit the ball towards the front with such speed that it went straight and hit Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s hand due to which he retired hurt. After which Jitest Sharma comes to bat, who was taking Punjab towards a good score while sharing a good partnership with Dhawan.



But Jitesh Sharma gets caught out on Chahal’s ball, after which all the batsmen who came are out quickly. Only Shikhar Dhawan survives till the end. Dhawan’s has scored an unbeaten 86 runs in 56 balls. Due to the good performance of Shikhar Dhawan, Punjab Kings could reach the score of 192.

Chasing this huge target, the Rajasthan Royals team did not send Jos Buttler with Yashasvi Jaiswal and sent Ravichandran Ashwin to score maximum runs by taking advantage of the power play, but this did not happen, Ashwin was dismissed on the fourth ball itself.

Jos Buttler came after Ashwin was out. Both Buttler and Samson together were now pushing the score of Rajasthan Royals. Jos Buttler got out after scoring only 19 runs in 11 balls. Then Devdutt Padikkal and Sanju Samson were making runs together when Sanju Samson got out after scoring 42 runs in 25 balls.


Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer brought Rajasthan Royals very close to victory but could not win the match. Rajasthan Royals lost this match by 5 runs.
